Safety Training Done Right with EDGE1 Equipment Rentals
March 4, 2019
We’re more than just a one trick pony at EDGE1 Equipment Rentals – we understand the importance of offering a full scope of services. In addition to offering extensive equipment rentals, we provide Ontario Ministry of Labour-approved safety training sessions focused in many areas of construction.
Taking safety measures while using equipment on construction sites is crucial. We feel a duty to ensure that anyone who uses our equipment does so in a proper manner and meets all health and safety standards. That’s why we offer various courses, a couple of which are outlined here.
Powered Elevated Work Training Program
In this course, we cover all aspects of the safe operation of self-propelled elevated work platforms and self-propelled boom supported elevated work platforms. We start at pre-operation inspection and guide you all the way through to stability. Operators of this equipment must be given a practical test by a competent person following completion of the course.
During this 3-4-hour course, many areas will be discussed, including but not limited to:
- Types of elevated work platforms
- Safety before & during operation
- Starting & testing
- Maintenance
By the end of the course, the operator is expected to be able to review equipment anatomy and components, understand the requirements for safe operation, avoid most common hazards, understand the difference between visual and functional inspections, and know how frequently inspections are required.
Working at Heights Fundamentals of Fall Prevention
Another one of our vital courses, this one in particular is designed to provide all the knowledge you will need to work safely in areas where there is possible exposure to fall hazards and don’t worry – everything we address is specified in Regulations enabled by the Occupational Health and Safety Act of Ontario.
The course is split into two parts.
- The first portion entails basic theory including fall hazard recognition and controls, scaffold construction, warning methods and more.
- The second section of the course focuses on practical equipment. The entire course takes approximately 6 hours to complete.
These are only two of the many courses we offer as part of our services at EDGE1 Equipment Rentals. Contact us today at phone number to learn more about how we can help you. You can also visit our website to explore all the services we offer and our extensive equipment list.
